Petrol Engine:

Four stroke petrol engine

1. It works on otto cycle. 

2. Air fuel mixture enter inside the cylinder during suction stroke.

3. Carburetor is used. 

4. Spark plug is used. 

5. There is no fuel injector. 

6. Low compression ratio(6-10). 

7. Efficiency is low. 

8. Fuel consumption is high. 

9. It is used for weight vehicles e.g- motorcycle, scooty etc. 

10. Less noise produced. 

Diesel engine:

Four stroke diesel engine

1. It work on diesel cycle. 

2. Diesel enter inside the cylinder during end of the compression stroke. 

3. There is no carburetor. 

4. There is no spark plug. 

5. Fuel injector is used. 

6. High compression stroke (14-20). 

7. Efficiency is high. 

8. Fuel consumption is low. 

9. It is used for heavy weight vehicles, e.g- truck, bus etc.

10. High noise produced.
